Voting, writing, food for thought

Photo calendar: Online voting from July 30 onwards – Hundreds of students took part in the Photo of the Month competition of the TUM Global & Alumni Office and submitted their favorite photos from a study visit or an internship abroad.

Take part in the online voting and choose your three favorites! The voting starts on July 30, 2020. The winning photos will be featured in the new photo calendar, which will be distributed internally at TUM and to all partner universities worldwide. More information: TUM Photo Competition. Semester fee for the winter semester 2020/21

The payment deadline for the semester fee for freshers (initial enrollment) for the winter semester 2020/21 was extended from September 15 to October 15, 2020. The deadline for paying the semester fee in the case of a re-registration for the winter semester remains unchanged: August 15, 2020. More information: www.tum.de/studium

TUM Junge Akademie: Apply by August 31, 2020

The nomination and application phase for scholarships of the TUM Junge Akademie has begun. This year's motto is "Disruption & Reconstruction – Opportunities for global collaboration". DigitalChangeMaker

After two successful years, the future-oriented student working group DigitalChangeMaker is now entering its third round. In 2020/21, the University Forum on Digitalization will once again be supporting innovation-hungry, committed students who want to address issues of digitalization in studies and teaching in the scope of a joint project year – to help shape innovative and up-to-date university education. Wanted: Tutors to supervise international students

TUMinternational (TUMi) offers the opportunity to help foreign students settle in and to introduce them to TUM, to Munich, and the whole of Germany. At TUMi, you will experience an international atmosphere, get to apply your language skills, make contacts with people from all over the world, and take responsibility for planning and organizing events. This could also be of particular interest for students who are planning a stay abroad or who are returning from a stay abroad. Application deadline: September 1, 2020. More information: TUMi Tutors

Academy of Writing 2020

Sharpen your pencils, oil your typewriter, start your word processing software… At 7 Bavarian universities, students of all faculties can now apply for the new seminars of the Bavarian Academy of Writing. Three weekends for 12 like-minded people – with inspiration, guidance, and criticism from writing professionals (editor Agnes Brunner from C.H. Beck Verlag and author/poetry slammer Pierre Jarawan). Participation, including the overnight stay, is free of charge. Application deadline: September 1, 2020. visiTUM for school pupils: Help others by talking about your studies

Interested in helping school pupils by talking about your studies? If so, get involved with visiTUM and prepare a short presentation on your personal study experiences – to be presented to school groups in connection with a general lecture on studying at TUM by the team of the Student Advisory Service. In advance, there will be a compulsory virtual workshop: October 28, 2020, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Contact: visiTUM@tum.de. Worldwide exchange program TUMexchange

Fancy a study visit abroad? TUMexchange offers you the possibility to study at a university of your choice outside Europe for one or two semesters, at over 150 partner universities in 26 countries. The application period for the academic year 2021/22 (winter semester 2021/22 and summer semester 2022) starts on October 19, 2020. There will be a preparation webinar (held in German and English) concerning the TUMexchange application-process – on October 15 and 16. Virtual fair on studies and careers

After the cancellation of the Master's Fair in March 2020, the TUM Virtual Master's Fair will take place in autumn 2020. The virtual fairground offers an opportunity to discover TUM, its Master's courses, and its consulting services. For whom? Bachelor graduates, Bachelor students from the 4th semester onwards. When? Bioeconomy at TUM Campus Straubing

Food for thought for the time after Corona

Due to the corona pandemic, the international community is facing unprecedented challenges. What will happen next? A new book by the TUM Emeriti of Excellence provides valuable food for thought. The approximately 90 renowned authors want to encourage readers to deepen their new skills and experiences – whether in school or in the scope of university education – in private and professional communication or regarding production and distribution in small or large companies. University magazine TUMcampus: The new issue is available

Medicines, vaccines, contact tracing, new methods of diagnosis and other topics… the new issue of TUMcampus presents TUM's research approaches to get a grip on the Covid-19 pandemic. Further, the TUM university magazine reports on the evaluation of digital teaching in the summer semester 2020 and accompanies biologist Christian Hof on his journey to the Chimborazo, the highest mountain in Ecuador.
