May 10 and 11: First French-German Machine Learning Symposium

International collaboration on Artificial Intelligence

Germany and France aim to strengthen interactions in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). On May 10 and 11, leading scientists will gather virtually at TUM for the First French-German Machine Learning Symposium. Bavaria's Minister President Dr. Markus Söder will open the symposium.

German and French machine learning experts want to deepen their cooperation in a scientific symposium at TUM. Powerful computers such as the SuperMUC at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (close-up) provide the infrastructure for computationally intensive machine learning projects.

The German and French guests will present their research in expert lectures and discuss topics such as "The Future of Machine Learning" in panel discussions.

Organizers of the scientific event are Leibniz Prize winner Daniel Cremers, Professor of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence at TUM, and Prof. Jean Ponce, Research Director at the Institut national de recherche en informatique et en automatique (Inria). Speakers include Yann LeCun, the 2018 recipient of computer science's highest honor, the Turing Award.
