Compliance upholds the integrity and transparency of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). As part of TUM Good Governance, the TUM Compliance Office (TUM CO) supports the Vice President Compliance in the TUM Board of Management.
The TUM CO fosters the risk management in an increasingly complex regulatory environment of entrepreneurial endeavours and the research integrity of an excellent university. The TUM CO is accountable for the TUM Codes of Conduct, which offer transparent principles regarding fundraising activities, collaborations with partners from industry and academia and the acquisition and administration of third-party funds as well as the Bylaw of Good Scientific Practice and Procedures in Cases of Academic Misconduct.
- All members and partners of the university can reach out to the TUM CO in case of a potential violation of the applicable regulations and standards
- The TUM CO operates independently and neutrally and examines all complaints thoroughly by fact-checking and verifying statements and counter-statements
- All information issued to the TUM CO is treated with strict confidentiality in order to protect the informant and the persons affected by allegations
- In case of a potential academic misconduct, the Ombudspersons examine the complaints neutrally and confidentially and introduce formal Ombudsverfahren accordingly

Vice President Compliance
Prof. Görg is the contact person for all compliance-related requests, independent of directives and acts in an advisory capacity to the President. As a biochemist, Prof. Görg received multiple awards on an international level. From 2007 to 2012, she was a member of the Board of Trustees of TUM-IAS, from 2016 to 2019, she was Ombudsperson of TUM. Since 01.04.2020 Prof. Görg is the Vice President Compliance of TUM.

Petra Marzin (RDin)
Ass. Jur. Petra Marzin (RDin) is the managing director of the TUM Compliance Office. Subsequent to leading positions in HR and the Legal Office, she was head of the Presidential Office and managing director of the TUM School of Education.
Advisor of the Vice President Compliance
Bettina Blasini studied "Innovation, Strategy and Organisation" at the Cambridge Business School and holds a PhD in “Innovation Clusters” from the University of Cambridge.
As Ombudsperson, Prof. Bubb is the contact person regarding requests on research integrity and procedures in cases of academic misconduct. From 1993 to 2009, Prof. Bubb held the chair for Ergonomics at TUM. Previously, he was a researcher and lecturer at the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Furthermore, he held various positions of the universities’ management, such as the representative of the Deans of Studies at TUM and as a member of Senate at KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

Ass. Jur. Petra Marzin (RDin) is Deputy Ombudsperson and Ombudsperson in accordance with TV-L, which comprises requests regarding science-related conflicts in the university’s management.
Advisor to the Ombudsperson
Erika Schropp studied at TUM and TU Berlin and commenced working in science management at the University of Bielefeld in 2001. Subsequently she was responsible for a project of the TUM Excellence Initiative.
