Environmental Lecture Series starts

"The Power of Learning from Simulations - Engaging Leaders with the En-ROADS Simulator from the real world Climate Action": Prof. Florian Kapmeier from the ESB Business School at Reutlingen University will open the Environment Lecture Series at TUM on April 24, 2023. Numerous lectures and side events will follow until the end of July. The organiser is the Environment Department of the TUM Student Representation. International Noise Awareness Day at TUM

Immerse yourself in a virtual audiovisual world at the TUM Professorship of Audio Information Processing. On the occasion of the International Noise Awareness Day researchers will be explaining their work in the anechoic chamber on April 26, 2023 between 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. In the anechoic room, the researchers will explain the real-time Simulated Open Field environment, in which you can be transported into virtual acoustic and visual worlds. Find out what it means to be hard of hearing or to use cochlear implants. Location: anechoic room (“Reflexionsarmer Raum“), building N9, Theresienstrasse 90, 80333 Munich. Preparation for the doctorate: PrepDoc

Are you a Master's student with a passion for research? The TUM Graduate School (TUM-GS) cordially invites all TUM Master’s students from May 02 to June 16, 2023 to join this year’s PrepDoc Program. The comprehensive PrepDoc program offers you valuable insights into planning for your doctorate at TUM, including funding opportunities, finding a supervisor, research strategies and many other topics you should consider before starting your doctorate at TUM. Film series "D I V E R S I T Y " at the HFF

"Respect the differences - Discover the similarities" under this motto, the TUM Language Centre together with the University of Film and Television will show a number of films to all participants of the language courses in the summer semester: May 25, 2023 "Everything Everywhere All at Once" (Original English, Mandarin, Cantonese with German subtitles), June 05, 2023 HFF-Oscar Short Film Night (three award-winning short films by HFF students) and July 06, 2023 "Leto" (Russian Original with German subtitles). International life on campus

The International Campus Life team of the TUM Global & Alumni Office is once again offering plenty of events in the summer semester 2023. On May 20, 2023, you can experience EU decision-making processes up close, explore negotiation leeway and grasp structures at the European level at the EU simulation "Zero waste". At the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Kickoff Workshop on June 03 and 04, 2023, all interested parties will have the opportunity to learn about environmentally friendly entrepreneurship and develop their own sustainable business idea. The weekly language cafés are already taking place again at the main campus, in Garching and Weihenstephan. Deutschlandstipendium: Application from June 05

For more than ten years, numerous young talents across Germany have been supported by the Deutschlandstipendium. At TUM alone, more than 6,000 students have received both financial and non-material support since then. Applications are open from June 05 to June 18, 2023. A full scholarship lasts 12 months, the scholarship holders receive 300 euros per month. More information: Deutschlandstipendium at TUM

Climate Action at TUM: Workshops in June

Shape TUM’s transformation towards a climate-neutral university and contribute with your ideas to the successful development of TUM’s climate action plan. The Sustainability Office is looking for you and your innovative and inspiring ideas to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on our campuses. We invite you to join us for our workshops “Climate Action at TUM” at one of our four main campuses. Save the date on June 13, 2023, 1 – 4 p.m. in Freising-Weihenstephan, on June 21, 2023, 1 – 4 p.m. in Straubing, on June 22, 2023, 1 – 4 p.m. in Garching, and on June 28, 2023, 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. in Munich. For many years, the University Library has been providing TUM students and researchers with campus licenses and training for the Citavi and EndNote reference management programs. But are these programs still the best choice for today's studies and research, or would a change be in order? That's what we would like to find out with a survey. Participate and cast your vote from until May 31, 2023! The survey is available in German and English, takes about 5 – 10 minutes and is completely anonymous. Save the date: TUM Global Week 2023

Anyone who wants to go abroad can find out in detail about what TUM has to offer from June 26 to 30, 2023. Information will be provided about exchange programmes such as Erasmus+ or TUMexchange and scholarships abroad. Specific questions about study and research opportunities as well as life in the USA, China, India and Latin America will be answered by TUM liaison officers in separate Q&A sessions. In addition, there will be offers from the TUM Language Center, special opportunities for student teachers and much more. Back on Campus: TUM Entrepreneurship Day 2023

Come together with the entrepreneurship community of TUM and UnternehmerTUM: After a three-year Corona restriction, TUM Entrepreneurship Day 2023 will once again take place on site without restrictions on June 29, 2023. Everything revolves around the topics of founding, innovation and entrepreneurship. The entire innovation ecosystem of TUM and UnternehmerTUM will come together on this day to learn from, motivate and inspire each other. The programme will be announced soon. Dragon Boat Race 2023 at the Olympic Lake

Row along! On July 21, 2023, the dragon boat race will once again take place at 4 p.m. on the Olympic Lake. All institutes, chairs and clinics of TUM and LMU can register boats with 16 paddlers and one drummer each. A maximum of 27 boats will be admitted. Prizes will be awarded not only to the fastest boats, but also to the three most original teams. So think of a motto, a boat name, a disguise or maybe even a show. Research data management in engineering: The joint lecture (Module ID ED140003) of the University Library and the Chair of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics offers you an ideal introduction. The course is aimed at students in engineering sciences who are dealing with research data in their final thesis, pursue a career in research and development, or have a general interest in (research) data management related questions. Start off right into the new semester: Courses and library tours

Deepen your knowledge with the wide range of courses offered by the University Library. No matter in which stage of your studies you currently are – the courses teach you skills in the area of literature research, reference management, citation, publishing, research data management, or bibliometrics. Library tours provide first-year students with quick orientation: You will learn everything you need to know about the nine TUM branch libraries, get an overview of library services, and get answers to all your questions about borrowing books and study spaces. TUM JazzBand is looking for new members

The band by students for students is looking for new musicians from all Munich universities. In a classic big band formation with vocals, the band presents swing, funk and pieces from the modern jazz scene as well as its own arrangements. In addition to self-organised concerts, there are regular performances at TUM events, but also outside the university and at student festivals. During the lecture period, the band rehearses every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the main campus. More info: TUM JazzBand
