As of summer semester 2022, special rules no longer apply with regard to study progress, standard period of study or other aspects of examination law.
For students who were enrolled in the winter semester 2021/22 and were not on leave of absence, the deadlines for the achievement of the minimum credit totals within the framework of the academic progress monitoring for the further course of studies were extended by one semester in order to take into account Corona-related restrictions.
If a corresponding extension of the deadlines was already granted in the summer semester 2020, winter semester 2020/21 and/or summer semester 2021, this remained in place - the deadlines for the completion of the minimum credit totals as part of the study progress control were thus extended by an additional semester in these cases.
For the summer semester 2020, the winter semester 2020/21, the summer semester 2021 and the winter semester 2021/22, an extended individual standard period of study was decided in order to automatically achieve a BAföG maximum period of study extended by one additional semester. You will find a corresponding confirmation on your certificate of enrollment, which you can download in TUMonline under Printouts for students.
In the summer semester 2022, no exceptions or extensions apply to the deadlines for the GOP or for foundation modules.
For Bachelor's degree programs with a Fundamentals and Orientation Examination (GOP), in the winter semester 2021/22, the deadlines specified in the respective Academic and Examination Regulations (FPSO) for the completion of the minimum credit sum for GOP examinations will be extended by one semester.
However, the number of repeat attempts remained unchanged.
For degree programs in which, according to the respective applicable FPSO, a certain number of module examinations from the fundamentals must be completed by the end of the second subject semester, this deadline was also extended by one semester for the winter semester 2021/22. This does not apply to conditional examinations; the regulations for this can be found under the item "Are deadlines for admission conditions extended?"
If a corresponding extension of the deadlines was already granted in the summer semester 2020, winter semester 2020/21 and/or summer semester 2021, this remained in place - the deadlines for the completion of the minimum credit totals for GOP examinations or the deadlines for the completion of module examinations from the fundamentals were therefore extended by a further semester in these cases.
Deadlines for the fulfillment of requirements for admission to Master's programs or proof of the first professional qualification can be extended once by half a year in accordance with Art. 99 of the Bavarian Higher Education Act after examination in individual cases, so that a maximum of three semesters are then available for the proof. This only applies to students who started their Master's program in the summer semester 2020, winter semester 2020/21, summer semester 2021 or winter semester 2021/22.
