Presenter
Philipp Schrögel
In his lecture, Philipp Schrögel sheds light on the participation of citizens in research processes. As part of the “PartWiss” project at Chemnitz University of Technology, the graduate physicist has developed a corresponding guideline.
Science communication is increasingly turning to dialogue and public engagement formats. There is also a wide range of participatory research approaches, including citizen science, transdisciplinary research, and open science. Overall, there is a very heterogeneous landscape of different interpretations, definitions, and claims.
Often, there are no clear definitions even within the communities, and the field continues to develop dynamically. At the same time, however, there are also many similarities and similar formats. This presentation provides an overview and outlines key developments and concepts. It is based on the participation guidelines in research developed in the PartWiss project in 2024.
