TUM Scholarships

Are you looking for a suitable scholarship? The scholarship programs described below are offered direct through the TUM. Please also read our information sheet.

Scholarship Deutschlandstipendium

Who can apply: currently enrolled undergraduates and graduates with university entrance certificates from Germany or abroad

Scholarship Amount: € 300 per month

Qualification requirements: Primary criteria are academic achievement and aptitude. Social engagement, a sense of responsibility and special circumstances such as physical handicaps or a minority status (immigrant background) are also taken into consideration.

Scholarship for International Students

Who can apply: currently enrolled undergraduates and graduates with non-German university entrance certificates

Scholarship amount: one-time financial aid of € 500 to € 1500 per semester

Qualification requirements: good academic record (merit), proven need (low income)

Linde / MDSI Master’s Scholarship

Who can apply: Students of the Master's degree programs “Data Engineering and Analytics” as well as “Mathematics in Data Science”

Scholarship amount: € 1000 per month for a maximum of 12 months

Qualification requirements: Applicants should be particularly talented in their field of study, have above-average performance and show particular commitment.

Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship for books and learning materials

Who can apply: currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who have completed at least two semesters at TUM

Scholarship amount: Grants for books and learning materials from € 100 to € 500

Qualification requirements: Applicants should demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, have only a low income and have not yet received financial support from the Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship Fund.

Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship for printing costs of dissertations

Who can apply: doctoral candidates

Scholarship amount: Grants for the printing costs of dissertations between € 100 and € 400

Qualification requirements: Applicants must have completed their dissertation with a final grade of at least “magna cum laude” and may only have a low personal income.

Students at Risk – Hilde-Domin-Programm

For: Students and doctoral candidates who are denied the right to education

Funding Scope: Monthly financial support, travel grants, German language courses and more

Reimbursement of the fees for Uni-Assist

For: Participants of the TUM Integration Program for Refugees from Ukraine  who are applying for a study course

Funding Scope: Costs for checking the university entrance qualification via Uni-Assist in the amount of 75€

Scholarship for students who are affected by the war in Ukraine

For: Students who are affected by the war in Ukraine

Funding Scope: one-time payment

Support for students affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

For: Students who are affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

Funding Scope: one-time payment 50-800€

Leonhard Lorenz Foundation

Who can apply: doctoral and post-doctoral candidates

Scholarship amount: up to € 1500 for conference participation and up to € 5000 for research projects

Qualification requirements: applicants are chosen based on academic performance

Loschge Scholarship

Who can apply: undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the field of thermal engineering

Scholarship amount: up to € 550 per month

Qualification requirements: Applicants should have demonstrated above-average performance in the course of their studies.

DAAD scholarship extension

The “Application Extension” form is no longer available for order or as electronically open document. DAAD scholarship holders have to log-in with their personal account at the DAAD portal to download the documents for the extension.

For stays abroad for study, research or internships, there are various support programs for the European and non-European foreign countries.
