Digital data on mobility patterns in the Munich region

More people opt for bus and rail travel

The introduction of the nine-euro ticket led to changes in the mobility behavior of many people in the Munich region. A study conducted at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) shows that more than 20 percent of participants had not previously used public transportation and now take buses and trains. Around one third of the participants were making greater use of public transportation than before. The study is the only research project on the nine-euro ticket to use digital data documenting actual journeys.

Latest Shanghai Ranking of academic subjects released

TUM among the top 25 in five subjects

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is among the world’s top 25 universities in five subjects and in the top 50 in two other areas. That is the result of the latest Global Ranking of Academic Subjects released by Shanghai Ranking. In remote sensing and medical technology, TUM is among the top 10.

Billion dollar start-ups launched by TUM alumni

TUM ranks sixth among Europe’s Top Unicorn Universities

Start-ups that exceed a valuation of one billion US dollars without a stock market listing are called unicorns. A new ranking posted on the “Sifted” portal now shows which universities count the most unicorn founders among their alumni. TUM ranks number 6 in Europe.
