TUM graduates in demand worldwide

Number 12 in Employability Ranking

Graduates of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are in strong demand in the international job market. This is seen yet again in the latest Global University Employability Ranking. TUM placed 12th worldwide and is number three in Europe behind Cambridge and Oxford.

Studies at TUM are both research- and practice-oriented, as shown here in the digital laboratory for teacher training.

The ranking indicates the quality of graduates from the point of view of employers. For the latest edition, several thousand managers in 24 countries were surveyed who recruit staff internationally. They work in a wide range of industries and with companies of various sizes. The rankings, which are commissioned annually by the British magazine Times Higher Education (THE), are compiled by the French management consulting firm Emerging.

TUM has been among the world’s top universities for years. In 12th place overall, TUM rounds out the leading trio in Europe alongside the University of Cambridge (4th) and the University of Oxford (6th). Within the European Union, TUM is thus number one.

Excellent ratings by students as well

The students also rate the study conditions at TUM very highly. In the most recent CHE University Rankings, which rate German universities in subject groups, TUM was among the leaders in numerous categories. For these rankings, the assessments of a university’s own students are the most important factor.

In international rankings, where research plays a key role, TUM also achieves excellent results on a regular basis. TUM is now the best German university in the three most prestigious international rankings – the Times Higher Education Ranking, the QS World University Ranking and the Shanghai Ranking.
